Print off enough for each child to have their own set of flash cards. Let them cut out each card and solve the flash cards by writing the answer on the back of the card. Place all of the cards in a zip-lock so they don’t lose them!
One the set is complete, they have a deck of cards that they can play various games with.
Flash Cards --> See how fast they can find the sum of the number.
War --> Each student grabs a card from their own pile. They say the answer of the problem. Whoever has the greatest SUM gets a point. (You can also play the person with the lowest sum)
SUM FINDER --> Match the math facts that have the same sum. (2 +2 and 3+1)
Order Up! --> Organize the sums from smallest to largest.
TURN Around! --> Find the turn around facts of the problems (3+1 1+3)
You can have the “superhero” card represent a number, or I had the students take a wiggle break (dance, do a jumping jack, etc)
I have a powerpoint that has the students solve the math facts for +0, +1, and doubles as well! :)
