"Math Challenge - Multiplication Facts" lets students compete with each other as they practice and memorize multiplication facts. (As a side benefit, they will also be practicing organization skills, as the more organized they are, the more likely they'll be to win!)
The rules are simple - each player gets a set of number cards including the answers to all multiplication problems up to 15x15 - 91 cards total (four different colors included). All the multiplication equations are printed on individual cards, which will be stacked face down. One player will turn over an equation card and place it where all the players can reach it. The first player to find the correct number card from their set of numbers and place it on top of the equation card wins the round and keeps the equation card. The first player to collect 10 equation cards wins the game!
The equation cards are color coded, so they can be easily sorted in order to adjust the game for difficulty:
Group 1 - Multiplication facts to 12
Group 2 - Multiplication facts 11-15
As students compete for speed in learning the math facts, they will also be practicing organization skills as they figure out how to best arrange their number cards to be able to locate the one they want quickly.
The cards can be printed on cardstock or heavy paper, or for long-lasting fun they can be laminated. Laminating is probably best as they will be used over and over.
The cards are designed to be about the size of regular playing cards, and can be easily cut apart with a paper cutter. Cutting lines are printed on each page, as you can see in the preview file.
* Equations for all multiplication facts are included twice (such as 5x7 and 7x5 ). You may prefer to use only one.
