Description
This quick-paced, nail-biter of a classroom game will leave your kids BEGGING for more! Team up to knock out the other team's player. The last team standing wins! This is by far the most engaging thing I've done for my classroom this year. My kids get SO excited when we play, and they work super hard all week learning just so they can improve their Knockout™ game!
Distance learning? No problem! Students can play this game at home using a computer as the whiteboard. Options for at-home game play:
1. Go head to head with a family member using a computer screen instead of a whiteboard. Instead of losing team members, start with 20 cubes or tokens for each player.
Wrong answer=one cube taken away
Knockout=one cube taken away
Pick a Pal=put one cube back in your pile
Free pass=nothing happens
2. Print the slides at home and place them in a facedown pile. Student sits next to a family member. Each player starts with 20 cubes or tokens. Flip the top paper over to reveal the "slide."
Wrong answer=one cube taken away
Knockout=one cube taken away
Pick a Pal=put one cube back in your pile
Free pass=nothing happens
3. You can present the slides to students as an assignment. They can simply write the answers in digital form using the format of your choice or in a notebook.
**Update: My kids now beg to play this during indoor recess. They choose this over Legos/cars/arts & crafts----yes, it's true.
This bundle includes ALL Knockout™ games (over 420 individual games!) I have created to date and will be added to each time I create a new game. By purchasing this bundle, you save more than 35% of the price and have access to all games that are yet to come!* This purchase will include the 60 items included in this listing as well as a link to a Google Drive file where some "overflow" items are kept--TPT has a current bundle limit of 60 items per bundle.
If you are new to Knockout™, view the description below and make sure to check the feedback on all of my games listed---Knockout is sweeping the nation!
Not only is this game great for learning academic content but it builds character as it emphasizes teamwork and good sportsmanship.
Rules:
A quick look at Knockout™ & how it is played:
•Divide your class into 2 single file lines
•Display the first slide
•The player at the front of his/her line faces off against the player from the other team. The first player to answer his/her question correctly wins and returns to the end of the line.
•The player who does not win goes to sit on the team "bench" to cheer on the team!
BUT WAIT. That's not all. If a player faces these slides, the following could happen:
•Double Free Pass: Both players automatically get to stay in the game!
•Double Knockout: Both players are automatically out!
•Knockout/Free Pass: One player goes, one stays!
•Pick a Pal: Choose a player from the bench to return to the game!
•Knockout/Pick a Pal: One player goes, the other chooses a friend to return!
The team with players standing at the end of the game wins. In our classroom, we like to keep teams the same for a week or two and keep a running score as a Knockout™ "tournament." Find some fun FREE scoreboards HERE
What do you get?
Each Knockout™ game is a set of PowerPoint files and can be used on any device that supports PowerPoint. Each game is a PowerPoint presentation that has 30 slides.
