This game is focused on Time. It's great for math centers and team work. Students work together to write time down on an analog clock and find the elapsed time. It includes opportunities for addition, subtraction, and multiplication, too.
This works great for 2nd and 3rd grade and has high levels of differentiation built within the game.
In this game, students will roll dice to find out if it is AM or PM for their starting or end times. The sum (or product, depending on their levels) will help determine if it is AM or PM. If the sum/products are odd, then it is AM. If the sum/products are even, then it is PM. You can add or reduce the challenge level by using addition or multiplication, or adding more dice!
2nd and 3rd grade Indiana Standards and I can statements are attached to the activity!
Students use spinners (included in this package) to find the hour and minutes. These spinners are designed by Miss Guard and are differentiated. Spinners A and B show minutes to the nearest 5 minutes. Spinners C and D show to the nearest minute. All you need to do is attach a string to a paper clip and have the students use a pencil to hold the string down as they spin the paper clip!
If students are struggling with the elapsed time, I suggest Googling "elapsed time ruler" and you can download them for free!
