The files are for black printing, so I usually print on bright, colorful paper and laminate.
In a classroom situation, this range easily caters for most abilities; in Math Centers it is a great activity; all children playing the same game, but at a level of difficulty suited for each individual.
As a casual teacher or a tutor, this is a valuable activity, easily carried with you, adaptable for most ages and abilities.
Playing in pairs encourages students to talk about their decisions, successes, mistakes and I believe this sharing of ideas is vital to education.
In the beginning I get students to use the two-dice game, so they're adding number 1-12.
Then they move onto using 3 and then 4 dice.
I have created 3 other games, very similar but they have the BUMP feature, whereby students can bump another child's counter off the board. This adds variety, and helps to complete the game when playing with more dice.
