Recently I was asked to create a presentation at our school's math/literacy night for parents. As a parent, I really debated about what would be most valuable to me and as a teacher, I wanted to really make their time with me worthwhile. After much debate, I decided to create a packet of games that families could play together using only a deck of cards or some dice. I wanted parents to walk out with some games they could use at home that would reinforce math skills. I plan to print out the direction cards for each attendee and give it to them as their takeaway item. During our session, we will play the games so they can see how much fun math games are.
I also plan to print these and create activity bags for my students to use during free time, math centers, and indoor recess.
Games are a great way for students to practice math and have fun!
This set includes directions for 15 different games. There are two copies per page so you can create centers or handouts on half-pages.
Add a deck of cards and dice and you instantly have a fun math game!
