I am a math interventionist. I have discovered that the best way for students to develop a sound foundation is through math games. When students are playing a game, their competitiveness comes out which requires students to build strategies (which can be taught and modeled while playing). I have created 8 unique games in which I play with my students on a daily basis. I have chosen these games based on their popularity with 5th and 6th graders. These games focus heavily on addition, subtraction, and multiplication. They require nothing more than dice and playing cards which make them quick to set up and easy to clean up. My kids love them and I hope your kids will enjoy them too!
