Good study habits will carry students far toward achieving success in mathematics.
-PDF handout / poster outlining the 9 steps to organized work
-PowerPoint modifiable version so you can customize your own
Often I've found that students entering high school have never been explicitly taught how to organize their math homework, or their binders. These skills are often assumed and taken for granted by teachers.
Use this template as an exemplar handout, or a classroom poster.
It encourages students to:
-use hole punched paper
-title the page
-write out the assigned page and question numbers
-include a name and the date
-space problems apart on the page
-write in pencil, showing all steps and calculations
-place work in a 3-ring binder in order from oldest to newest (like a book)
