Glue It/Do It Math Journal prompts have been a favorite activity with my students. We begin in September with one, once a week and progress to two per day, several times a month by May. Here are nine sets of monthly Glue It/ Do It prompts for your Math Journals! There are 69 prompts that you can use throughout the school year. Simply make the number of copies you need for your students, then let them cut, glue it and do it in their math journals. My students must show at least two ways that they got the answer AND the must write and circle the answer. I have made these so that you can modify them for your personalized use. They can be used for morning work, centers and as a whole group math activity from time to time. Most are word problems related to the time of year and activities that younger students can relate to. Check out my preview to get a taste of what they are like!
This product aligns with Common Core Math, higher level thinking and questioning. Students must use multiple strategies to solve the problems. Mental Math can be used to help solve the problem, but students must show their thinking.
