The main purpose during BOY is to assess prior knowledge and either put them in an intervention group or to teach the concept to the entire class. MOY is used to see how much progress students have made and also to re-evaluate their intervention group if necessary. EOY is used to measure overall progress and also to see where I as a teacher need to expand my teaching techniques.
