Description
This money-saving bundle has a variety of fun math and literacy learning activities that get students up and moving while still maintaining social distancing in the classroom. They can also be used during distance learning to give students a break from sitting.
As we enter school in either a social-distanced classroom or a virtual classroom, one of the many concerns I have is the lack of movement or gross motor activities that students will be able to do.
I wanted to create a way for students to get up and moving while learning so I created resources that require students to show their answers to questions by doing movements instead of just saying or inputting their responses.
Each math or literacy question has 3 answer choices with a specific movement for each. Students do the movement that is next to their answer choice.
You will be able to look and see which students know a variety of math and literacy skills by what movements they do, how fast they do them in response to the question, or whether or not they are looking to see what the other students are doing because they may not know the answer.
The slides are self-checking. Once students are doing the movements, click the slide again to show the correct response (a green checkmark will appear beside the correct answer). This feature also allows students to practice independently.
The visuals beside each answer choice show students how to do the movements so learners of all levels can participate (even nonverbal students).
A perfect way to get students engaged and learning! Also helps with following directions and focus - students have to think about their answer and the movement associated with it.
