In this compressed file you will find the Application Problems, several assessments, fluency/sprints, and templates that are listed in the Math Module from Engage NY for Kindergarten Math Module 4. The formatting was done by myself but the material was provided by the Engage NY site.
I have compiled them now into several files. One book for Application Problems. For the most part, I have kept the problems exactly as written by the state. There were some slight modifications that were made along the way to assist the teacher and the students. These modifications may include:
Changing names to more common ones. Example: Latandre might get changed to Lisa. My ESL students were getting stuck on the many multicultural names presented.
Shortening some of the directions.
In some modules students were asked to just do something and the Application Problem was presented orally. I’ve included a page anyway so you can keep track of the activity.
Changing out the clip art from that provided by the state. Often it was unclear or it did not photocopy well.
Created a parallel task to what was being asked in the module if the original was too difficult or confusing.
I have put together several assessments that you can use throughout the unit individually or compile and collate into a booklet. You could also white out the assessment labeling and use for RTI or extra help sessions.
I included the templates in black and white that are used in the lessons. This way it is a little easier to find.
Fluency/sprints are also present in this module.
What's missing? Exit tickets--unlike the past modules I've posted--there are no exit tickets created for this unit. The teachers I've worked with just weren't getting to them and the curriculum writing team I am apart of decided not to continue creating them--it was too time consuming for us and the teachers were not getting to them.
These books are photocopy ready and I hope that you will enjoy them!
