Math Monopoly includes the board as well as 27 addition and 27 subtraction cards. Print and laminate the board. Print and laminate the addition and subtraction cards on two different colors of card stock to distinguish between the two. Math Monopoly is a great intervention tool for students who need to build their fact fluency.
To play Math Monopoly students will need the board, and to place the addition and subtraction cards face down onto the plus and minus spaces on the board. Students will then roll a die, and move the appropriate amount of spaces. The card stack they choose from depends on the "property" they land on. If they land on the plus property they will choose from the addition pile and vice versa if they land on a minus property. If students land on "Go to Jail" they loose their next turn. If they land on "Free Turn" they get to go again or can choose what type of card they solve. Students will take turns solving the cards. Whoever has collected the most cards, by solving them correctly, wins!
This game works great in small intervention groups because the teacher can check answers as students go! Thanks for the download from Miss Kelly's Classroom! Enjoy!
