Your students will have a blast using the 1-step equations to follow the rule in these Input/Output Tables to color in and create this adorable little rainbow flying cat. They will follow the rule, and fill in the empty spaces on the tables. Then, they will color in all the squares with the answers that correspond to the color posted for that problem.
This activity is geared to 4th grade standards, but they are just learning about variables. I have included a version that uses the "little kid" division symbol and a version that uses the fraction division symbol. To avoid confusion with the x variable, multiplication is printed as "2x" or "3x". I have taught my class that the "big kids" write multiplication with variables this way.
Do your students love Mystery Pictures? I also have a "Fractions and Decimals" pack that has 10 different pictures to practice 4th grade fractions and decimals skills. Check it out here!
Also, check out my Cute Animals Long Division practice
which has 5 Mystery Pictures with adorable animals and grid sheets for students to show their work.
