Hello Mighty Mathematicians!
As a teacher I have often found that there are many opportunities for students to record reading minutes at home, but not many opportunities or charts for logging math practice at home. This Mighty Mathematician Club Card gives students the opportunity to earn fun incentives and prizes by practicing math at home. Students fill in a chart that is divided up into increments of 5 minutes.
Once students fill their chart, they return the chart to school and select an incentive. I laminate the incentive posters and typically post 4 or 5 every month. Once students return their minute chart they write their name with a dry erase marker on a poster until they have "redeemed" their incentive.
I have found the Mighty Mathematician Club Card to be highly motivating for students. I have also received positive feedback from parents stating that their child is more willing to spend time practicing math at home.
