In this fun and colorful lesson students apply and demonstrate their understanding and ability of converting fractions to equivalent decimals and percents. Using a 10 x 10 grid students determine a portion out of 100, turn that fraction into an equivalent decimal and percent, also simplifying the original fractions. Fractions are randomly created by the students as they use the letters in their names to color the grids. Students have previously learned how to convert fractions with denominators of 100 into decimals and percents.
