I created this activity for 3rd graders to practice sorting examples of all of the different properties of addition and multiplication. This sort includes examples of the Identity Property of Addition, Identity Property of Multiplication, Commutative Property of Addition, Commutative Property of Multiplication and an "Oddball" category, which contains non-examples of the properties. A directions page is provided for the teacher, as well as an answer key. The students each need a page to cut (Page 1) and a page to glue on (Page 2). A great review of all of the Addition and Multiplication Properties!--seatwork during math centers, guided or independent practice, homework, morning work, etc. This can also be used as an assessment tool.
