Math Puzzles for Back to School | Math Centers

These back to school math puzzles for 1st grade and/or 2nd grade students (possibly 3rd grade remediation) include a variety of skills such as: two-digit & three-digit place value, 2-digit plus one-digit addition, 2-digit plus a multiple of 10 addition, 2-digit minus one-digit subtraction, 2-digit minus a multiple of 10 subtraction, telling time to the quarter hour and five minutes, skip counting by 5s and 10s, and 2-digit addition & subtraction (no regrouping or borrowing) . The can be played as math games or as individual math centers.

To complete these puzzles, students will solve various problems on the puzzle mat. When they know the answer, they will find the matching puzzle piece and place it on the mat. Teachers can print extra puzzle mats to use as recording sheets for students to show their work!
