These task cards are great for any 5th or 6th grade student to review math learned throughout the school year. Perfect for end of the year, or before the big test, reinforcement and review. Engaging alternative for boring student worksheets. Effective practice of various (common core and FSA) mathematical skills.
This item includes 30 task cards that include math concepts of operations, algebraic thinking, fractions, numbers and operations in base ten, and measurement, data, and geometry. The problems will give your students practice with the various types of questions, such as multiple choice, matching, missing values, equations, multi-select, hot text, open responses, and fill in tables.
Task cards can be implemented in a myriad of ways. Students can use them individually, in pairs, with small groups, or as a while class activity. Some students may need a little more time achieving the skills in school or at home. They can e used for tutoring, interventions, or enrichment. Task cards also allow students to move around the room. The class can use the cards in game-like activities like “Scoot” and “Back-to-Back Game” or to reinforce cooperative learning strategies. Additionally, teachers can use these task cards as a formative assessment to monitor progress of these math skills.
To prepare the cards, print them onto cardstock for durability. Cut them apart. Laminate and/or put them on a ring or in a photo album for safe-keeping.
