I made differentiated Math folders for each of my third grade students. I place different resources and assessments in their folders each week that fit their academic needs. After looking at recent data, I decided to make practice problems based on the SOL problems that my students struggled the most with during their assessment. They did this worksheet during their independent math groups this past week. I collected it and was able to assess where the conflict was located in these particular math problems. I used this same format and color coded for my ESL and SPED students. I also include a self-evaluation sheet in their folders to help them use metacognition skills to explain why they are feeling the way they are about that particular math skill. It also helps me learn their emotions at that time when they were practicing the skill.
