This activity asks students to solve whole number and math fact problems, some mentally, some paper/pencil, and match the answer with the letter and place it in the secret code (quote or saying) below. This quote or saying goes along with a commercial, movie clip or some other usually humorous short video (link provided) that the class enjoys afterward . I would make and use these every couple weeks as a review, warm up or take home activity, and the students enjoyed and looked forward to them, and it provided good drill and practice.
