    Description

Give your 5th graders plenty of math practice with all four quarters of the Math Spiral Review Whole-Year Bundle! They'll get 36 weeks - a full year - of basic skills review and applications practice. This weekly printable provides students two things they need in math: 1) consistent review that spirals back to essential previous skills, and 2) opportunities to apply those skills in real-life situation word problems.

This Math Spiral Review resource is so versatile! Designed as a weekly two-sided resource, it's easy to assign daily sections. You can use it as Morning Work to get kids thinking mathematically, as homework, as in-class practice, as part of your math center rotations, or in a small intervention group.

Numbers on the front are editable! If you'd like to adjust numbers to better support your students, just click and you'll see a text box. Type into the box to make your change. Or, use each page just as it is!

Common Core Aligned: You’ll see some skills presented as number problems and others embedded in word problems. The word problems provide a review of Common Core 4th grade standards and practice on 5th grade standards as they are introduced during the quarter.

    What's Included In Each Quarter?

Fun: Kids will love the Math Laugh that begins each week! The answer to the riddle is on the back sheet at the bottom. Other fun features are Calculator Solve & Flip (Q1), Math Analogy (Q2), Code Buster (Q3), and Build 30 (Q4)! Kids have tons of fun as they build math skills!

Skills Practice: Each quarter addresses key math skills. See each quarter for a full list. Some are:

    ⭐Rules of Divisibility

    ⭐Geometry definitions

    ⭐Adding fractions with like denominators

    ⭐Measurement conversions, standard and metric

    ⭐Find terms with a rule

    ⭐Multiplicative comparisons

    ⭐Reasoning about geometry concepts

    ⭐Multiplying a fraction by a whole number

    ⭐Area, perimeter, and volume calculations

Applications: In these word problems, students will apply knowledge learned from 4th grade standards and apply new 5th grade standards as they are introduced during the quarter.

Data: I’ve included a Data Collection Sheet so students may monitor their own growth, and an Item Analysis Sheet to teach students how to pinpoint areas that challenge them. If you purchase my bundle, they will have data for the whole year.

Assessment: I’ve included an assessment formatted like the weekly reviews.

Convert among different-sized standard measurement units within a given measurement system (e.g., convert 5 cm to 0.05 m), and use these conversions in solving multi-step, real world problems.
Make a line plot to display a data set of measurements in fractions of a unit (1/2, 1/4, 1/8). Use operations on fractions for this grade to solve problems involving information presented in line plots. For example, given different measurements of liquid in identical beakers, find the amount of liquid each beaker would contain if the total amount in all the beakers were redistributed equally.
Recognize volume as an attribute of solid figures and understand concepts of volume measurement.
A cube with side length 1 unit, called a “unit cube,” is said to have “one cubic unit” of volume, and can be used to measure volume.
A solid figure which can be packed without gaps or overlaps using 𝘯 unit cubes is said to have a volume of 𝘯 cubic units.
