One of the stations involved using a computer to do research. There were so many pages to read just to understand what to do. The creativity was there, I just didn't like how much more detailed one station was than another, especially since I usually work rotations as a timed activity, where all stations are given the same amount of time. Again, it was very creative and a nicely done.

Hello, Thank you for your feedback. I modify the stations for different classes if needed. You can highlight certain problems and tell the students to ONLY do those. Also I only do 6 stations a day (there are 7 stations included so you don't have to do all of them at once) and you can replace the technology station with the teacher station (as it's not numbered) or with another station. These are just some suggestions to help to run Math stations more smoothly in your classroom. It took me at least three years before I could say I was efficiently running Math Stations. I'm glad that you found them to be creative. Students like differentiated station work and creating different tasks rather than the same task six times helps keep them engaged. Thank you for your feedback, Kelly

Standards

Understand a rational number as a point on the number line. Extend number line diagrams and coordinate axes familiar from previous grades to represent points on the line and in the plane with negative number coordinates.
Recognize opposite signs of numbers as indicating locations on opposite sides of 0 on the number line; recognize that the opposite of the opposite of a number is the number itself, e.g., -(-3) = 3, and that 0 is its own opposite.
Understand signs of numbers in ordered pairs as indicating locations in quadrants of the coordinate plane; recognize that when two ordered pairs differ only by signs, the locations of the points are related by reflections across one or both axes.
