Your students will love reading this cute comic about Paul's trip to the mall. He has $45 of birthday money...what will he spend it on? Will he run out of money? Students follow Paul for three pages and help him calculate his spending. They finish with a one-page shopping activity where they get to choose how they would spend $45!
This activity is a great way to practice using money and work on subtraction with decimals and regrouping. It could also work as a test.
Please note that this activity uses CANADIAN money.
An answer key is included.
