How to Play:

Designed for 2-4 students, 'Owl Make Ten' allows students to practice making combinations that add up to ten in a fun, engaging way. Differentiated to two levels, students choose a 'tree card' as their individual game board. The owl tokens are scrambled and placed face down. Students take turns choosing an owl token, reading the number or ten frame, and checking their tree card to see if they can combine the number to make ten! If students find a correct combination, they may place their owl on the tree branch. The student with the most owls wins!

Each player begins by taking a train card. Students are then each dealt four number cards, which they place below their train. All the remaining cards are placed in a pile in the middle. Train to ten is played like go fish. Students take turns asking their peers if they have the card they need to make ten. If the peer does not have it, they tell the player to “choo choose again” and they must pick up a card from the pile. The objective is that each student make as many pairs adding to ten as possible. When they do, the number cards are placed each in a train car until the end of the game. Have fun!
