"Math Surveys for the Year" is a packet that contains four seasonal/thematic student surveys for each month of the school year. Each survey question has two different sheets for differentiation. The first sheet is a simpler form where students will tally their peers responses and then graph the data. This form is perfect for beginning of the year kindergarten. The second form requires students to analyze and write about their data after they have collected it. This form is ideal for mid-end year kindergarten and first grade students. This packet has a total of 44 surveys.
I use these surveys during Daily 5 math in my "Writing About Math" rotation. My students LOVE surveying their peers and they enjoy going back to analyze, graph, and write about the data they collected. I teach a K/1 combo class, so my kindergarten students use the first form for each question and my first graders use the second form.
