These cards are great at helping all teachers facilitate "Math Talks" with their students. Each question or statement is designed to get your students talking about math. For sample questions or journal prompts please download the preview. These cards work great if you laminate them and slip them on an o-ring. This way you can keep them close to you during your math instruction to help foster your students' learning. I also made it really easy on you by providing visual clues (pencil clipart) for questions or statements that would work great as journal prompts. There are also a couple of prompts that ask students to state what they are still confused about or have questions on to help you direct your teaching to the skills/concepts that need the most practice. It is also a great quick assessment to see what your students know.
These cards would also work great in conjunction with my Common Core Mathematical Practice Task Cards. If you are interested in the Task Cards you can find them at http://www.teacherspayteachers.com/Product/Common-Core-Math-Practices-QuestionTask-Cards
