These task cards can help with Module 2 Topic C (Eureka Math/EngageNY)
For these task cards, I've taken the ten out of the teen number for the students. Our students need a visual first of what we mean by decomposing the teen number. Students then mentally mark out the number taken from ten, then they visualize what is left over and how many more ones we have to get their answer.
As students begin to realize that there is both simplicity and efficiency in breaking apart the teen number into tens and ones, they begin to show marked improvement in fluency and strategic thinking.
