These task cards are one of a kind. They incorporate addition and subtraction word problems and problem solving/social skills task cards that are related to the math problem. The math word problem and problem solving/social skill task card is on the same page separated by a dotted line. The teacher can choose to have the student work out the word problem alone, or incorporate the problem solving/social skill task card with the word problem. Since the word problem and the problem solving/social skill are directly related, it makes the word problem more realistic to the student solving the math portion of this activity.
The teacher may also choose to have the student solve the math portion only and save the problem solving/social skill part of the task card for another assignment. There is a dotted line on each task card that the teacher can cut to divide the task cards into math word problems and problem solving/social skills.
This product also lends itself well to cooperative learning activities. The students can pair up or work in groups to solve the math portion of the task card, then discuss the problem solving/social skill lesson.
