Product Description
This quick activity is a starting point for explaining profit. Many times, students will misinterpret the meaning of profit as the "money in," without regards to "money out." This quick activity gives them a scenario where the class is planning a dance to raise money for a field trip. They must consider the costs that go into having a dance, decide what to charge for tickets, and hope that they make enough money for the field trip. (After everyone has finished their planning, the teacher chooses how many people bought tickets!)

Includes student worksheets to copy.
