Product Description
These thinking patterns are great for teaching problem solving. The thinking patterns are for the basic operations; addition, subtraction, multiplication and division

These thinking patterns are pretty universal in that every one probably has seen them or uses them. In these posters I have added more visuals to help my students understand each thinking pattern. Each pattern has the name of the pattern, a visual representation, an equation, and a part part whole map to match it.

This set has 3 posters and 2 pages of smaller versions of all 4 operations for student use (they are great for adding to student math journals or taping them on their desks for an extra resource).

The thinking patterns posters have:

Bigger, Smaller, Difference (BSD)
Some and Some More (SSM)
Some Went Away (SWA)

The student versions have :

Bigger, Smaller, Difference (BSD)
Some and Some More (SSM)
Some Went Away (SWA)
Equal Groups Put Together (EGPT)
Equal Groups Take Apart (EGTA)
