This is a perfect board game to use for a math lesson on U.S. coin identification. Similar to many children's board games, my game requires use of any token available in your classroom. Using a token, students can practice attending skills and turn-taking to play this game.
Students move the token and land on a coin. Students can either verbally indicate name of coin, or match with larger flashcards. You may also use real coins and have students match the coins on the game board.
The possibilities are endless, depending on the skill level of your students. Either way, this is a perfect method to familiarize your students with currency.
I have included 2 versions of the game. One version is pictures of coins only, the other is text only. The text only game can be teacher directed if your students have difficulty reading - (e.g, ask students to find the coin they land on). The text version is perfect for teaching students to identify currency vocabulary as well. They can be played in one sitting or on separate occasions.
