This math unit is sectioned of into three lessons meant to take place over three days. It's main focal point(s) are structured around the adding, subtracting, and multiplication of decimals. It serves as a great building block to introduce percents (which are encountered in lesson 2 of this math unit). These units will serve as an in depth review on the a fore mentioned content. In other words, students will already have the fundamental knowledge regarding fractions (which will not serve as a large theme in any of the lessons, however background comprehension of it is still necessary), decimals, and percents. It will give students the chance to thoroughly examine, play, and experience this type of mathematical material in a real-world and relate-able manner. They will be able to see how such functions are already naturally integrated into their lives/surroundings.
