These are vocabulary cards for the NWEA (Northwest Evaluation Association) MAP (Measures of Academic Progress) Math Assessment. Vocabulary is organized by RIT (Rasch unIT) score. In order for students to move up their RIT scores, they will need to understand the vocabulary used in the next level. This set includes vocabulary for RIT scores ranging from 171 to 180, so it is perfect if you have a lot of students currently scoring just below 170. These vocabulary cards will help them learn the necessary terms they need to know to move up to the 171-180 level. Words were taken directly from the DesCartes Continuum of Learning on the NWEA website.
Cards are printed three to a page so they can easily be cut apart and used in a small pocket chart. Each card includes the vocabulary word, a picture, and a basic definition of the term. There are 48 words in this set. Two of the words have two definitions giving this set a total of 51 word cards.
I use these vocabulary cards integrated into my regular math lessons, to ensure all students know these basic terms and their meanings.
