Start your new school year with a guessing game, a game that reviews important math vocabulary students will need to know and use throughout the school year. Odd vs Even. Prime vs Composite. Greater Than vs Less Than. All of these are covered as well as digit, hundreds, thousandths, ten-thousandths, square and cubed numbers numerator and denominator.
Again. An excellent way to begin the new school year.
Medieval characters, under the directions of the Queen and King of Math, present students with a series of 4 or 5 clues they will use to discover a secret number. The first clue narrows the possibilities to about 20 whole numbers. Each succeeding clue narrows the choices until only 1 possibility is left.
In this game, a score is kept. The value of the clues decrease with the presentation of the next clue. Students may repeat their guesses, but only the guess with the highest point value is used to determine their final score.
Students who earn 20 points or more are crowned as the new Queens and Kings of Math.
Guess My Number has a second part. After playing the game, students are then challenged to create and play their own version of the game. Students are placed in groups of 4. Each chooses a new number, creates 4 or 5 clues and then group members play each other.
