Want your students to have a deeper understanding of their math standards? There are several options for math concept and vocabulary sorts. This could be used in whole group or math centers.
Option 1: Use the 5 Concept Heading Cards and the Vocabulary Term Cards and have students quickly sort the terms under the appropriate heading. This could be timed and you could also have students document this on a chart to keep track of their progress.
Option 2: Use the 5 Concept Heading Cards, Vocabulary Term Cards and the Vocabulary Definition Cards. Have students quickly sort the terms under the appropriate headings. Then they must match the terms to the definition cards. This will not be ask quick as Option 1; however, the ability to do this sort displays a deeper understanding of their math standards.
Option 3: Use one Concept Heading Card and have students find all the Vocabulary Term Cards for that heading.
Option 4: Have students use the Vocabulary Term Cards and Vocabulary Definition Cards and instruct students to match the definitions to the terms.
