Reading problems can be a difficult for students to understand. Why? Simple. You are asking them to do two things at one time. You are asking them to read, and you are asking them to use their knowledge of formulas to solve a math problem. Needless to say, your students may become confused. The following are 10 pages of three-step, four-step, and five step reading problems that you can use to help work with your students on solving reading problems. There is at least 1 two-step reading problem and 1 problem that requires 7 simple steps. There are 2 problems per page.
These sheets can be used as bell ringers, exit slips, or as Center Activities. You can print these off and make copies for your class or you can laminate them and let your students use them again and again as practice.
