This resource was created to give students the opportunity to compare two Math in the News articles. The students will read two math articles and make connections between them. Each Math in the News Article activities include its own set of questions and activities as well.
I have included a template to look for similarities and differences between the two articles. I have also included a template for students to make text-to-text, text-to-self, text-to world and text-to-mathematics or science connections. There is also a worksheet with a description of each of these on the back. It includes questions the students can ask themselves to guide them through their connections.
This is a great resource for students to work on their reading strategies in their math class. It is a great resource for students to connect mathematics to the real world.
