This file includes a bag label, 3 versions of multi-step story problems for differentiation, and a classroom sign. Students work in pairs to solve the story problems. Then they bring their cards to me. I have a bell for the kids to "ding." They say "Math-or-Treat!" If there answers are correct, I place the card in their bag and they choose a candy. If the answer is wrong, I send them back to correct. You can decide if you want to give candy for corrected answers or not.
small paper bags, Halloween candy, colored copy paper (I prefer the Astrobrights hot orange and hot green)
A few days before, I hang up the Math or Treating sign to get the students excited. You will need a paper bag for each student. Copy and cut apart the bag labels and staple to bag. There are 3 versions of the story problems. Select the version you want and copy on colored paper. Cut out, creating a set of cards for each students. Pair up the students and put the candy in a bowl. Students may work in pairs to solve the problems. If they get the answer correct, they may trick or treat you for candy. They will put the completed card and candy in their bag.
