Use this product to provide your students with opportunities to build and refine their mathematical problem-solving skills. Designed originally for 4th grade, these problems could be adapted for 3rd and 5th grade as well. Cognitively Guided Instruction allows students to think for themselves by giving them the freedom to solve flexibly and in multiple ways. Students soon learn there is more than one way to arrive at an answer.
If you are not trained in CGI, you can still use these problems with your students.
There is a total of thirty problems based on kid-friendly topics designed to be used with a math journal or notebook. Students glue word problem to a blank page and solve using multiple strategies. Numbers have been left out, except for fraction problems, in order for you to differentiate to meet the needs of your students.
