Let history be your guide in this Mathematician Biography Project! This 3-part project will enhance student's knowledge of mathematicians and their contributions to the topics you cover in your classrooms. It will strengthen their research skills while utilizing print and internet resources (depending on availability). The project is differentiated to appeal to student's creativity as well, requiring an artistic element as well as a written biography. It includes a grading rubric, timeline, and detailed objectives for each task.
Please note: The project can be formatted to fit your time schedule. However, it was field-tested and completed during five 90 minute block periods. The specific mathematicians should be chosen to correlate to your particular curriculum emphasis for greater connections.
