George Booker articulates the developmental sequence for teaching 'Time' in his book 'Teaching Primary Mathematics'.
From exploring everyday events, reading clock times, calculating elapsed time and everything in between he unpacks what is necessary for our students to understand this concept.
In this PDF I have created ten assessments that match Booker's sequence for learning. These assessments can be used for both formative and summative purposes and allow educators to place their students on a developmental continuum and teach to their very needs.
An example of my work - Booker states that the initial teaching of time should include the exploration of everyday events during the school day. My first assessment includes pictures of events that happen within a school day (reading, eating lunch, etc) with supporting labels. Students are given a copy of this sheet, cut out each picture and place them in order.
