I use this when starting a new Mathematics measurement topic on 'time'. It is very useful in determining what students already know and what they still need to learn. It helps me group students for different teaching points or mini-lessons and work out how to extend those who need it. I usually photocopy it to A3 size and use the same sheet again at the end of our learning about 'time'.
It covers key facts about time, telling the time, how time is used in everyday lives and any questions or what students want to know more about.
Teachers, parents and students can all compare it to the prior knowledge sheet and see each child's growth and learning. The students get a real kick of seeing how far they have come in their learning.
