Description

I hope you find this lesson plan inspirational on many fronts. I tried to make it both a hands-on experience as well as instilling some meaningful connections. I think it works as a STEAM lesson, a math project as well as meeting all the requirements of the National Standards for the Visual Arts.

A very easy way to estimate placement of objects on a paper is by doing some simple folding. This is a project which crosses Math and Art by creating paper folds that decrease the drawing area. It enables children to grasp the concept of large to small. It can also be a simple way for the visual learner to grasp the concepts of fractions, whole to half, half to quarter, etc.

In this packet you will find...

* Titles of children’s books about fish

* Example of a childs’ fish design and inspirational artwork

* Simple directions for folding the paper for this project

* National Visual Arts Standards related to project.
