After my class played this game and have since begged me to allow them to play it again, I felt like this was a worthy game to share with fellow teachers! The game includes a board game (consisting of four colours, each corresponding to a basic operation - addition, subtraction, multiplication and division). After rolling a dice, children will move their counters and answer a question from the pile of cards which corresponds to the colour tile they landed on. On each card, there are two questions. The first question is easier and if answered correctly is worth 1 point. The second question is worth 2 points. Children can only answer one question on the card. The file is a powerpoint presentation and thus can be edited to suit your class. With my class, I gave the children mini whiteboards to show their working. Each group should also be given a calculator so that answers can be checked before awarding points. I recommend that children work in groups of 3 or 4 for this game and I would suggest that the game board be laminated before use.
