This differentiated Key Stage 2 Maths Vocabulary Reading Comprehensions Pack contains five original short stories filled with the vocabulary that children need to know from the new National Curriculum.
Each story contains a mixture of vocabulary from KS2 and is best used by children in Upper Key Stage 2 but could easily be used to help expose children in Lower Key Stage 2 to new, contextualised vocabulary.
The Girl Who Never Slept
The Boy Who Was Afraid of the Dark
The Zookeeper's Emergency
Every brightly coloured, child-friendly comprehension has 18 maths vocabulary questions with answers provided and an extension activity available.
Reading and vocabulary understanding prevents children from fully understanding complex word problems in maths. This resource can be used to improve reading and comprehension but also continue to build up a bank of maths vocabulary to help children tackle a more demanding curriculum.
