There are two versions of bingo contained in this folder. A basic facts bingo game and a word based question bingo game. Slides from the word based bingo game are shown in the preview.
These games were designed for students in Year 4-6 who are learning to use faster strategies to arrive at answers and are beginning to apply their knowledge to ‘real-life’ math situations. Word questions are mainly easy to medium level with a few difficult questions as challenges. Problems include reading graphs, place value knowledge, basic number patterns, simple fractions, using number lines, reading time, interpreting basic maps, addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. A few questions require two operations to solve, most questions are single operation.
This game totally engages my class for an entire lesson. They are even begging to play another game. The longest I have relented was 1 hour and ten minutes at which time I let the class know we had to end as school was about to finish for the day. They could not believe the time had gone so fast. And on the teaching front they are practising multiple maths skills, which is excellent as a maintenance activity.
