This is a straight-forward novel study. There are questions for each chapter, including multiple-choice, fill-in-the-blank, and short essays. The unit includes 124 questions in total. It is divided into chapters. (One page of questions per chapter.)
An answer key is included, and it cites page numbers so you can locate every answer in the book.
I've used this unit in two different ways in my own classroom:
1 - Use each page as a "Reading Check-Up Quiz" after students finish reading the chapter for homework. It's the perfect way for me to tell if students completed the reading or not.
2 - I teach students to monitor their own comprehension by giving them the chapter questions to fill out as they read in class. In this case, I expect them to write the page numbers down when they find the answers. Then, we all come together at the end of class to discuss the answers and see if we agree on page numbers. :-)
