Here is a fun way for your class to practice some of the vocabulary words from Roald Dahl's Matilda. Students copy the vocabulary words onto their own bingo cards for one more chance to practice with the words. After they have filled out their bingo cards, you can begin the game. I use this with my ESL students, and like to begin the first few games by just calling the words without the meanings. From there, I progress to having them use the vocabulary sheet where they can see the meanings of the words. Finally, we play some rounds where I call out only the meanings, and they have to identify the words. It is a fun, engaging way to build in some extra vocabulary drill.
