My hope is that this will help you to implement great instruction in your classroom to improve student success and achievement.
This group of novel activities is not intended to be used in any specific order. Rather, you should examine all that is included in this pack and see which of the activities will best suit your students’ needs. I’ve differentiated the activities in certain respects. For instance, the sheets for making inferences about character descriptions comes in two formats: one, with the adjectives pre-selected so the students simply have to be trained on how to find the text evidence, and the other without any pre-selected adjectives allowing your students to choose their own descriptors. Also, for the writing activity, one is color coded while the other is in black and white. The color coding may help students be able to see the pattern within the paragraph. Both the figurative language and British vocabulary sheets come in a variety of formats – some with definitions and/or examples, and some without, depending, again, on the needs of your students.
You will find that some of the activities come with an “anchor chart” that can be printed as a handout or displayed at a center for students to gather more information.
Finally, all activities are grounded in being able to find text evidence to support ideas and answer choices. Most of the instruction for these activities should always be centered around the idea of providing proof from the text.
I hope these activities help you implement best practices in the classroom all while helping your students become engaged readers. Please feel free to ask me a question on the Ask A Seller A Question page of my TPT store. Again, thank you for your purchase and happy teaching!
